Jack Broderick
Jack Broderick is the founder of F.I.T.T (Fitness in Today's Times), a Wellness Services Provider that empowers people to live healthier lives. Jack has served as the International Quality Control Health and Fitness Consultant for the National Strength Professionals Association (NSPA) and has certified over 10,000 personal trainers since 1991 -- 2007.
Jack's undergraduate and graduate work includes; Sport Science, Psychology, Gerontology, Adult Fitness, Cardiac Rehab, & Stress Management. He designed and conducts Weight Management Specialists Certification and Weight Management Workshops throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, & Japan. He founded and manages Fitness In Today's Times (FITT) 1995. Jack has an extensive medical background spanning 38 years: an Independent Field Medic USN/USMN, a Disease Intervention Specialists with CDC, a published Wellness Based Researcher with NIDA, and a Clinical Exercise Physiologist with Greater Washington Centers for Occupational Medicine. Jack has designed/built health clubs in Colorado and served as General Partner/Owner for Maryland Health club development. He is published through Human Kinetics as a contributing author on High Intensity Strength Training (HIT). Jack is a marathoner, snow skier, rock climber, Hang Glider & Para Glider pilot.
Michael Brown
Michael J. Brown is owner and director of personal fitness training strength and conditioning development for Deca Fitness Systems. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Springfield College and holds additional certifications in Sport Medicine and Sport Coaching from the United States Sports Academy. He is a certified Health and Fitness Instructor from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and is a Certified Personal Trainer from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Michael is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Personal Trainer (CPT) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and holds a Level I Coaching Certification from the United States Weightlifting Federation (USAW) and the United States Track and Field Association. (USTFA)
Michael was twice selected to attend the United States Olympic Training Center at Colorado Springs. His highest national decathlon ranking was 3rd in 1982 and was a finalist in the 1984 United States Olympic Decathlon Trials. He retired after the 1988 Olympic Trials but continues to train as a Master's fitness athlete.
Mark Davis
Mark Davis is as talented an athlete as he is a fitness professional. He personifies the phrase "Practice what you preach". Mark "XBigMan" Davis' metamorphosis from a 368-pound deskbound CPA to a Personal Fitness Trainer/Ironman triathlete has been featured on NBC's 2001 Escape from Alcatraz, Court TV's "Fake Out" game show, Univision (se habla español!) and twice-in Men's Health magazine. Mark's expert guidance and his "If I can do it, anyone can!" attitude have inspired many individuals to lose weight or complete their first triathlon. Mark has certifications with the American College of Sports Medicine, the National Academy of Sports Medicine and is a USA Triathlon Level I Certified Coach.Mark is passionate about his calling: "It's not what you eat; it's what's eating you. I don't care about the number on your scale. If all I do is help you change your waistline, I have failed. I want to help you change your life. Jamie Hale
Jamie Hale the Head Nutrition Consultant for Hybrid Fitness. Mr Hale is a Sports Conditioning Coach, author, gym owner, and fitness and nutrition consultant. He has contributed to numerous exercise and sports publications (nationally and internationally). He has authored five books. Jamie is a member of the World Marital Arts Hall of Fame in recognition of his conditioning work with Martial Artists. He is considered by most in the industry as a specialist in agility and comprehensive fitness training. Also known for his ability to get bodybuilders lean and dry as bone for competition. Brian Johnston
Director of Education & President, I.A.R.T.
Brian Johnston is the Founder, Director of Education, a theoretical exercise scientist and President of the International Association of Resistance Trainers, who taught exercise science courses through Canadore College's distant education program.
He is the author of Exercise Science: Theory & Practice, Scientific Inquiry for Fitness Clinicians, Apex, No Turning Back, Prescribed Exercise, Origins: Linking Exercise to the Sciences, Individualism, Fit Marketing, Metamorphose Optimus, Stress & Recovery, System Analysis: Critiques of Problematic Training Methodologies, Charting for Success, The Johnston Rep Method, Tactical Fitness, and Strength Training: Objective Principles of an Exact Discipline.
He has coached numerous competitive and non-competitive athletes in the last 20 years. Abu Pigott, D.C.
Abu Pigott D.C is a fitness specialist and owner of Next Level Personal Fitness Training in Oakland, CA. In addition to his many years in fitness industry, Abu is also an experienced soccer coach, serving as President and Director of Coaching at the Alameda Soccer Club in Alameda, CA.
Abu's philosophy is simple: Fitness is medicine. Exercise is the most under prescribed treatment modality in modern day health care. Jim Schmitz
Jim Schmitz is a fitness specialist and International Elite-level Olympic Weightlifting Coach. Jim served as Head Coach for the US Olympic Weightlifting team for the 1980, 1988 and 1992 games. In addition to his Olympic coaching accomplishments, Jim served as President of USA Weightlifting from 1988-1996. Jim is also owner of the Sports Palace Weightlifting Club since 1968, providing Olympic Weightlifting coaching to athletes of all levels.
Jim has been a writer for MILO Magazine since 1998 and continues to serve as a judge for numerous Olympic Weightlifting competitions all across the US and abroad. Jim has over 48 years of personal weightlifting experience.
Dave Smith
Ph.D Senior Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Psychology
Dave Smith is a BASES accredited sport psycologist and Associate Editor of The Sport Psycologist. In addition, he has a first class BSc (Hons) degree in sports science from
Staffordshire University, UK, and a PhD from Manchester Metropolitan University,
UK. He is also accredited as a sport scientist by the British Association of Sport
and Exercise Sciences and is a member of the advisory board of the International
Association of Resistance Trainers. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in the
Department of Sport and Exercise Sciences at the University of Chester, UK. He
has published widely in both scientific journals and popular magazines on
physiological and psychological aspects of strength training, and is currently
undertaking a major project examining the uses and effects of the MedX lumbar
extension machine.
Irene van der Zande
Irene van der Zande is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of KIDPOWER TEENPOWER FULLPOWER International. From the beginning, Irene has led the development of the programs, creation of the curriculum, establishment of centers and training of instructors. She is the author of most of the program materials and publications.
Working in conjunction with experts in the fields of public health, violence prevention, mental health, law enforcement, child safety, education and the martial arts, Irene has developed and taught self-protection, boundary-setting, self-defense, harassment prevention, advocacy, and confidence-building workshops for thousands of children, teenagers, adults, and people of all ages as well as trained others in how to lead these workshops. She has extensive experience adapting these services to meet the special needs of people with different abilities and/or facing challenging life circumstances.
